Remote Desktop Programs

I just wanted to share with you some of my favorite remote desktop sharing programs.

Crossloop Free, You can however hire someone from their site to fix your computer.
This is pretty cool, I have a profile on there http://www.crossloop.com/D4RK_4NG3L
I personally can help fix your computer remotely. This program makes an easy front end for vnc

TeamViewer Free For Personal use but Has Paid Options.
All the paid options are, however aimed towards businesses with decent budgets so don't expect to pick this program up for commercial use unless you have some capital lying around. This program  is smooth, and very configurable, if you are using for personal use only make sure that are very careful to install it using that option.

Windows RDP Free
Although this works well, it is not nearly as user friendly as the other options. Also while you use this, other people cannot watch the computer, making it not a great tool to help someone, or teach them. Only to login remotely and do what you want to.

Log Me In Free Free For Personal use but Has Paid Options also
I have used this service for a while however Teamviewer provides some functionality for free that Log Me In charges for, So it really depends on what you are using it for, that determines which one fits for you.

Go2Meeting Not Free
Is a reasonably priced way to share you desktop and hold meetings. Aimed more at small businesses there are options for businesses of all sized. While they don't have a free option, there are always free trials and discounts that you can get.

In conclusion. There are many different programs out there, no one program being the best. I recommend that you look at and try each program yourself, and choose the one that works best for your skill level and situation.

Acer Aspire One 751h Mini Review

Acer Aspire One 751h Mini Review

Well I recently made a trip from California to Ohio, and I have to get an inexpensive laptop to do it. I ended up getting an Acer Aspire One 751h. I did some reasearch and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. It comes with an Intel Z520 Atom Processor, 2 Gigs of Memory, a 250 Gig hard drive, and the option to run Vista, or XP. It can also run linux more on that later.

This is very much a netbook by any standard, with no optical drive, and a small 11.6 inch sreen boasting a resolution of 1366 x768. (720p HD screen) This means that most standard applications that don't fit the widscreen format will at least run scaled at a native format of 1024x768 It has been great for doing work on the internet, listening to music, and typing documents. We were able to stream to Stickam by utilizing a webcam, and connecting to the internet, by utilizing my HTC G1 cell phone. We did all of this while driving in the car. (my copilot was at the computer controls.)

The battery time is decent, and it looks like I might be able to get a bigger battery for it. I like the full size keyboard, but it does take a little getting used to because the keys are perfectly flat. It has very many things going for it. I have dual booted Ubuntu onto it and am probably going to install Windows 7 on it. Ubuntu runs fine on it, however because of the new graphics architecture used, the graphics acceleration isn't working well. Leaving most eye candy, and graphical tasks lacking processing power.

So now I get to some of the things that I don't like. The memory is not expandable (as far as I know), and it doesn't do fullscreen video very well. The VGA out works fine, however if you wanted to watch a full screen movie or do a full screen presentation, you may be disspointed.

Its important to note, that the graphics performance, make improve greatly as new drivers are released however at release, they leave a bit to be desired.

All in all its a decent Netbook, with quite a bit of bite for its class. It turns out its Z520 Atom Processor is has Hyper-Threading & Intel VT technologies. (Source Wikipedia). It easily keeps up with similarly priced offerings in its class, and did I mention a multi gesture touchpad, and webcam?

I like the little trooper, and have adopted it into my business. I will post pictures of it soon. What kind of netbook do you own? (tell us in the comments below)

Smoking 2.0 : First Impressions of Blucigs

Today was the lucky day that I got my blucigs in the mail. I have never been a smoker so this is a new experience for me. They came well packaged, in a nice black box, with magnetic lip.  This starter kit box contained:

  • 1 x pack
  • 2 x batteries
  • 1 x atomizer
  • 1 x wall charger
  • 1 x usb charger.
  • 5 x packs of 5 flavor cartridges (25 cartridges total)
I paid extra to get an extra atomizer, giving me two full cigarettes.

I assembled the first cigarette easily and took my first drag. Very smooth I started with a small puff then took a big drag in. I could feel the cool menthol on my throat. It was at that moment I understood why so many people smoke. Its very relaxing, whether its watching the smoke as you exhale or the smooth menthol on your throat its relaxing. Interestingly enough it was so smooth that I didn't cough even once.

I must point out that since, I don't actually smoke tobacco cigarettes I can't compare it to normal cigs. I also chose the non nicotine option, because I don't need it. Its nice to know however, that people who need or like the nicotine do have the option to get it, in a manner that isn't detrimental to their health. You can order different levels of nicotine, or no nicotine at all. You can also choose from Tobacco, Menthol, Java, Cherry and Vanilla.

Although this product clearly states in its instructions that "..blu electronic cigarette has not been tested as a stop smoking device and has not been advertised as a quit smoking device..." However I can see how someone could choose to use it as a way to keep smoking like they want to, just in a way that doesn't removes the tar and other carcinogens.

Why give up your habit that relaxing you and makes you happy, why not just clean it up so it isn't dirty.

Its also worth noting that the product is RoHS compliant, and tested by the SGS. So you are sure to get a quality well made product.

I chose the black cigarettes and cartridges, however you do have the option to chose the traditional cigarette look.

On and off throughout the day I found my self taking a few puffs here and there. The vapor was amazingly full bodied, yet didn't leave the bad smell or oder that regular cigs leave.

I can confidently say smoking blucigs is smoking smarter. They are the pioneers of smoking 2.0

I will be posting some video's soon, and if you have any questions you may contact me or leave a comment.

FUEL for PC first impressions

Very decent graphics, Nice huge open world. Fun Races, Can't wait to play with friends. It seems to have most of the things needed to make it a fun game. Very smooth game play, and extremely fun with an Xbox 360 controller. There are a few things I would have liked to see but over all a fun game. Look at the Crazy Monster truck video I took from FUEL. Very fun, with vehicles from monster trucks to motorcycles :)

Call Of Juarez - Bound In Blood Fix

I will be releasing a review later, however I wanted to pass along a fix that helped me get the game going. As many of you trying to play the game have probably found out, it doesn't like two monitors.

To get around this disable one monitor in your windows preferences, then start the game, change it to windowed then choose your desired resolution etc. it should work perfectly. exit the game. Then can then enable your second monitor and if all goes well you will be able to play the game. Enjoy.
